Assistance for Members in Transition

If you are in career transition, the HBA is here to help you. Growing your network, joining the Career Transformations affinity group, and searching our Career Center are some of the ways your HBA membership can work for you during this time.

For current HBA members, we are pleased to offer a special renewal rate for those facing involuntary unemployment. This grant reduces the one-year membership fee to $100/€90. To apply, submit an application here

Eligible individuals are those who have been impacted by involuntary job loss (currently involuntarily unemployed) and are within their grace period to renew their membership- one month prior through two months after the membership expiration date.

Those who are ineligible are individuals who have never been members of the HBA, those who voluntarily left employment and independent business owners.

The HBA will use the honor system and rely on the integrity of the individual to provide accurate information. The application requests very brief information on your former employment status.

HBA volunteer leaders have access to a membership report which includes the individual’s membership rate. The application information is not shared, however.

The HBA is unable to provide refunds to individuals who have already renewed membership, but we encourage you to apply during your next renewal period.

No. As a loyal member of the HBA, you have demonstrated your appreciation for and understanding of the value of the HBA and your continued involvement is sufficient repayment.

This policy currently relates to membership dues only and approval though this process will result in a reduction in dues only. Members typically enjoy reduced rates for events.
