Meet Molly Jansen

Volunteering with the HBA holds significant importance for me because it allows me to actively contribute to advancing gender parity within the healthcare industry. I volunteer for the United Force for Change because I firmly believe in the transformative potential of collective action. If not me, then who?

Volunteering has significantly influenced my career path by broadening my professional network, providing invaluable leadership opportunities, and empowering me to set a positive example for others. My favorite aspect of volunteering for the HBA is consistently encountering new individuals and departing from HBA events feeling more invigorated than when I arrived. The inspiration drawn from fellow HBA members not only enhances my professional endeavors but also enriches my personal life.

My favorite HBA event I ever attended was the "Powering the Possibilities" event at JLABS this past January, hosted by HBA Houston. What made it truly special was the chance to connect with Mary Stutts, our fearless leader.

Volunteering has broadened my network by facilitating connections with individuals from my company whom I may not have encountered otherwise. Additionally, it has strengthened my sphere of influence both within the Dallas-Fort Worth area and beyond.

The most valuable lesson I learned from a fellow volunteer is that collective effort yields greater impact than individual endeavors; together, we can achieve more in driving meaningful change than when working alone.

My employer encourages me to volunteer for HBA because they understand that promoting diversity of thought and supporting women in leadership positions through initiatives like the HBA and Otsuka partnership not only enhances business impact but also fosters a more inclusive and innovative workplace culture.

What skills have you acquired or fine-tuned during your time as an HBA volunteer that you feel will help you Accelerate Transformational Leadership? Through my engagement with the HBA, I've cultivated strategic planning, collaborative synergy, inclusive leadership, event coordination, and ambitious goal setting.

I first got involved with the HBA after attending my inaugural HBA annual conference in person in 2022, held in Philadelphia, PA. Surrounded by an inspiring community of remarkable women and allies over those few days, I felt compelled to engage further.

What would be your advice to someone thinking about joining or getting more involved with the HBA? My advice to someone considering joining or becoming more involved with the HBA would be to dive in headfirst and fully immerse yourself in the enriching opportunities and experiences it offers. With opportunities available at every level of time commitment, there's something for everyone to contribute and benefit from.

Anything else you would like to share? I am truly honored to be part of the mission of the HBA, an organization that is making a real difference in the healthcare industry and beyond. Being involved gives me purpose and adds immense value to my professional and personal journey, providing fulfillment in ways I hadn't imagined before. Additionally, through my involvement, I've had the opportunity to create lifelong bonds with inspiring individuals who share a common passion for driving positive change.
