Women in Science

The Women in Science (WIS) affinity group offers women in scientific roles with professional support for their full and equal career advancement, through interactive, empowering, educational, and professional development programs and networking and collaboration opportunities.

New England is a hub for biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, universities, and hospitals and the WIS initiative was founded in the Boston chapter in 2004 to address the unique needs of the area’s scientific community. Through WIS-specific programming, the HBA creates increased educational and networking opportunities for members both in and from scientific and clinical roles and backgrounds in the healthcare industry. Today, WIS groups have been established throughout nearly all HBA regions.

Our membership includes women with training in science, technology, engineering and mathematics who are working in any sector across the healthcare industry. HBA members can designate affiliation with WIS in their membership profile.
