ILLUMINATING NEW HORIZONS HBA LAUNCHES NEW PROGRAMMING FOR EXECUTIVES RADICAL HOSPITALITY | PROFESSIONAL ENRICHMENT | BUSINESS GROWTH | INCLUSION For the past year, we have been talking with a number of industry executives, seeking insights for how the HBA could provide them greater value. We learned that, regardless of career stage, professionals value forums where they can actively engage with their peers and participate in discussions that ignite, renew or optimize their potential as industry leaders and contributors. So we got to work. On 5 December, the HBA delivered the first event in a series of new executive programs designed by and for this constituent titled: Illuminating New Horizons. This day-long event explored the theme of “A Bold New Direction” for career planning and strategy. With speakers, panels and conversations designed to inspire, educate and engage, the event offered opportunities for self-reflection and peer discussions that brought to light alternative pathways and new horizons for participants. The agenda exposed attendees to the power and value of the HBA network firsthand. The event planning team assembled an impressive roster of speakers and panelists from HBA’s rich network of executives. These women hold, or have held, some of the most senior positions across our industry and fully support the mission of the HBA to advance the influence and impact of women. The day was moderated by HBA’s 2018 STAR Terri Pascarelli, CEO, AIT Bioscience LLC. This event will be repeated in 2019 and additional programs will be offered including “Boardroom Savvy” and a “Venture Capital and Funding” forum. Attendees will also be invited to informal local meet-ups and virtual sessions to help maintain and expand the professional relationships initiated at these events. HBA executive events are invitation only.
