As our 2009 President Ceci Zak wrote in her year-end  letter the HBA accomplished a great deal in 2009.

The HBA GP Chapter is kicking off its campaign in search of their 1000th phenomenal member.  The 1000th member will be granted paid registration to the HBA Leadership Conference in October in Philadelphia, a special acknowledgment of a special milestone.

Brooke Claussen, Tanika Craig, Kristen M. Dodge, Julie Hakim, Kelly S. Lewis, PharmD, Lindsay Luke, Nancy Martin, MD, and Dawn Palace, PhD represented the Chicago Chapter well while exemplifying true experiential leadership qualities.

A group of talented businesswomen led by Lynda McDermott, President, EquiPro International, is forming a new HBA Affiliate for Florida. Volunteer leaders from the Tampa Bay and Orlando area have a goal of making a difference for career minded professional businesswomen in Florida where the healthcare industry is thriving.

History will be made in Philadelphia this fall with the engagement of distinguished life sciences and health care industry leaders at one of the most dynamic leadership events of the year. The annual HBA Leadership Conference will be held October 27-29, 2010. This year’s theme is “Leadership Impact Delivered: Innovate, Orchestrate, Perform.”

On Thursday, April 16 2010, Chicago HBA Chapter members, members from other chapters and guests filled the ballroom at the Hyatt Hotel to listen to the evening’s featured speaker, Dr. Deborah Dunsire, President and CEO of Millennium, the Takeda Oncology Company.

HBA Chicago Chapter board recognizes Bhavani Moodbagil as “Volunteer of the Month” for her year-long effort to build a relationship with Baxter’s corporate diversity and HR teams as well as her effort to understand Baxter’s company goals with regards to womens’ leadership.

Nearly 100 Rising Stars were honored at the HBA’s 21st annual “Woman of the Year” (WOTY) Luncheon on Thursday, May 6, in New York City and simulcast to San Francisco.

On June 16 HBA Greater Philadelphia will host an exciting event, “Getting Recognized to Get Ahead,” presented by Denise Peppard, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC).
