What is your current job title?

Medical Science Liaison, Neurosciences, Jazz Canada

Why did you join the HBA?

I was given the opportunity to join the HBA through my company and jumped at the opportunity.

What are your interests outside of work & the HBA?

We are a very active family. I am married with two daughters, 10 and 12 years old. We love to rock climb, mountain bike, ski, hike, canoe – if you can do it outside, we love it. I also love to read both fiction and non-fiction and go to the theatre.

What or who inspires you?

Having been a rock climber for more than 20 years and even competing in climbing for several years, many of the people I find the most inspiring are climbers. Lynn Hill has always inspired me given that she is small (my height) and has some amazing accomplishments to her name including being the first person (not first woman) to free climb the Nose on El Capitan in the 90s. She really showed that women can not only compete with the men outdoors but that sometimes they can do things that men can’t.

What’s your favourite quote?

One of my favourite quotes comes from Helen Keller: “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” In other words, go for it, face life fearlessly, and be willing to fail.
