HBA Chicago-Northern Suburbs is pleased to announce our November Volunteer of the Month is Debbie Williams.
When asked to share her experience as an HBA volunteer, Debbie told us:
“It is an honor to be recognized as an HBA Volunteer of the Month. The HBA has been a significant part of my life for over 10 years now. When you join the HBA, you become part of a family – a family of women and men committed to learning, developing and making a difference in healthcare and the community. And volunteering makes you feel even more connected and a part of the HBA family.
Participating as a volunteer gives me so much insight into the goals and mission of the HBA. Working with others and achieving those goals is very gratifying. In this collaborative and team-driven world, it is an additional opportunity to develop those skills in a safe environment.
And finally, for me one of the most satisfying advantages of volunteering is getting to know better the wonderful women and men of the HBA. I have developed friendships with HBA members from the very beginning of my HBA experience that continue to this day. Networking opportunities at the events are great and when you volunteer as well, you truly have an opportunity to further make those meaningful connections and develop lasting relationships that are so valuable professionally and personally. I would encourage everyone to consider volunteering with the HBA.”
