Fit to Lead Newsletter July 2019

July was another busy month for the New England Region Fit to Lead Athleaders and August is sure to be jam-packed as well.

July re-cap:
Keeping with our non-stop pace, a few members of the Fit to Lead program ran the Cambridge Summer Classic. An annual favorite in the Boston/Cambridge area, this 5K runs through Central Square and was a fast, flat course.

After the 5K, we had our monthly, virtual workshop. This month we were fortunate to have a Amy Mariani of Fit & Fabulous, LLC who holds a certificate in exercise nutrition, a crossfit level 1 trainer and has completed a certification in pregnancy and postpartum athleticism joined us in person and gave us practical, actionable advice on nutrition and wellness as a whole. Amy detailed her athleader journey as well and how having a sensible approach to meal-planning can go a long way.

First Boston Sweatworking – we had a great Sweatworking event with Maggie Duffy, from Sarepta. We learned about her fitness and professional journeys and how they’ve intertwined. Maggie also offered her six “Ps” to live by, three of which were pursue, plan, partner, perseverance, practice and play. I encourage you to join us for future events to gather more great advice and a new networking and/or fitness experience.
