HBA Indianapolis Names Erika Velasco Volunteer of the Month

HBA Indianapolis is thrilled to name Erika Velasco as the June volunteer of the month. Erika is the brand protection manager over the U.S. diabetes care portfolio at Roche. With a background in sales and sales operations in the IT consulting industry, she began at Roche about two and a half years ago as a project manager/financial business analyst. As she continues her skill building and career journey, Erika aspires to be in a leadership role to manage others- which she has had experience with in some of her previous roles.

Erika joined the HBA in March of 2018. As she wanted to get more from her membership, she was quick to begin volunteering on the marketing committee for HBA Indianapolis in 2019. With a background in sales and finance, Erika hopes to gain experience on the marketing team to help her “learn and explore this area – as well as make me a more well-rounded person.” She also has expressed that she does “enjoy thinking from the marketing lens, so joining the team has given me the opportunity to do that.” Erika plays an instrumental role on the team and has been quick to learn the processes for ensuring our communication to our membership. With her continued dedication to the team, including exploring new ideas for engaging materials for our members and delivering solutions for our committee to work more effectively, Erika has been an incredible team member in Indianapolis.

Erika serves as a co-lead of the Roche Young Professionals Business Impact committee and as Roche’s Butler University Recruiting Lead.  When she is not at work or volunteering for the HBA and other professional organizations, she loves to travel and spend time with her family. Her family is spread out throughout the U.S. and abroad, so she is looking forward to spending time with family members on upcoming trips. Erika and her husband have two dogs whom they adore, Snoop and Ziggy- and are very excited to welcome their first child, a baby boy, in October of this year.

Thank you, Erika, for all your hard work and being a truly impactful HBA Indianapolis team member.
