On Tuesday, 30 April HBA Houston hosted an invaluable workshop entitled “LinkedIn: An Integral Component Of Your Professional Toolbox” at Cardinal Health in Houston, TX. Debbie Platts, ICF certified executive coach and owner of JWP Coaching, shared strategies that leaders can implement to manage and engage on the professional social network LinkedIn. Attendees had the opportunity to learn about this benefitial platform as well as the critical steps necessary to realize its benefits. The workshop focused on ideal techniques for marketing ones profile, tips for posting and suggested criteria for connecting and following. More than 50 attendees, representing over 20 organizations, enjoyed an evening of networking and engagement geared towards elevating pertinent skills for professional marketing and connecting. Thanks to our HBA Houston photographer, Shelby Moulden, all attendees had the opportunity get a headshot to complete their profile.
Debbie Platts is a leadership coach, small business consultant and speaker with an extensive background as a results driven former executive of a Fortune 30 company. As owner of JWP Coaching, she works with emerging and established leaders to create a journey with purpose where clients successfully navigate the challenges of modern leadership and accelerate the pace of their personal and professional effectiveness. Debbie is a registered pharmacist who received her pharmacy degree at the University of Texas, MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management and Graduate Certificate in executive coaching from the University of Texas at Dallas.
At our event, HBA Houston also celebrated our volunteer, who earned HBA Houston Honored Volunteer Award for April, Jason Monteiro, director of access and patient support with Cardinal Health’s Specialty Solutions business. Over the past several months, Jason has been helping to plan and create opportunities for HBA Houston programs that will engage our members. Thank you, Jason for your enthusiasm and initiative to help HBA Houston grow.
We would also like to recognize Cardinal Health volunteer’s Debbie Fernandez and Rose Schmidt for all of their help planning and coordinating this event. The event was a huge success thanks to both of their many contributions.
