HBA Houston Proudly Recognizes Venise Richardson as an Honored Volunteer

HBA Houston Honored Volunteer award was presented this month to Venise Richardson. Venise was nominated for her commitment and many contributions as a volunteer for HBA Houston. She has demonstrated an amazing attitude, enthusiasm and initiative to help the HBA Houston grow. From the very beginning, Venise has been one of HBA Houston's most active ambassadors. Often, people comment that they learned about HBA Houston from Venise. Most recently, Venise volunteered on the HBA Houston Shoot for the Stars event executive committee for its inaugural HBA Houston panel discussion. The event was a huge success thanks to Venise's leadership and contributions. She has done a fantastic job marketing HBA events and spreading the word about HBA Houston.

Venise is an accomplished sales leader, with a unique background in pharmaceutical sales, business development, marketing, specialty pharmacy, public health and research. She started her career at MD Anderson Hospital evaluating monoclonal antibody diagnostic test kits for FDA approval. After transitioning from research, Venise finished her master's in public health and landed her first job in pharmaceutical sales with Bristol Myers Squibb. She has also worked for pharmaceutical companies, such as Merck and Novartis. Currently, Venise is a territory sales manager at Azura Vascular Care in Houston.

Known as an innovative thinker, Venise has excelled in developing innovative initiatives, building long-term strategic partnerships to drive sales growth, and marketing products and services with industry-leading companies to a variety of physician specialties, hospitals, pharmacies and medical service organizations. She has also spent time as an independent representative working on medical-related projects.

Venise is most passionate about networking and being a connector of individuals, especially women to encourage, mentor, support, nurture ideas, projects, dreams and goals that align with planting seeds of success. She is also passionate about volunteering and, as a 21-year breast cancer survivor, patient advocacy. In addition to the HBA, Venise is also an active member of the National Association of Health Service Executives and the National Sales Network. Recently, she was presented with the National Sales Network 2019 Women Who Lead Award.

Thank you, Venise, for your dedication to inspire and further the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare. HBA Houston would not be possible without the contributions of volunteers like Venise. She is an extraordinary volunteer that has played a significant role in building the HBA presence in Houston.
