The March new member spotlight is on Semina Penic, a current health services management major at IUPUI. Semina is staying busy as a student, and enjoying her time expanding her knowledge base through a variety of classes. One of the most intriguing classes so far has been “High Risk Health Behavior and Harm Reduction,” where she learned about harm reduction and different approaches to public health issues/initiatives to meet all individuals’ needs within a community. She is expected to graduate from her program in December 2019 and plans to go into either healthcare consulting or hospital administration, but continues to stay open minded as she learns more about her desired career path.
Semina is eager to enter the healthcare field and she has already joined the programming committee as a volunteer for HBA Indianapolis. When asked about what she was hoping to gain from her membership, Semina said she hopes to “immerse myself in a community filled with incredible women within the healthcare industry and expand my network of healthcare professionals” and is “extremely excited to be a part of the HBA community and looking forward to meeting everyone.”
HBA Indianapolis is very happy to welcome Semina as a new member.
