Dear HBA Houston,
On Thursday, 24 January, HBA Houston hosted a networking event with colleagues and other healthcare professionals at JLABS @ TMC in Houston, TX. Over 70 attendees from more than 30 organizations enjoyed a fabulous evening making new connections, reuniting with friends and colleagues and celebrating the strength of the HBA’s growing network here in Houston. Tom Luby, head of JLABS @ TMC, shared the innovative and inspiring work that is being accomplished at JLABS @ TMC. Thank you Tom for your support and for making this evening possible.
That evening Jenny Frantz was recognized as the HBA Houston’s 2018 LEAD (Leadership Excellence And Dedication) award winner. Jenny was nominated for her commitment and many contributions as a volunteer for HBA Houston. She has been extremely active with HBA Houston since it launched as an HBA Houston affiliate, a critical role that has been key to our success and growth. In fact, Jenny’s contributions inspired the role and we are extremely grateful for the initiative she has taken to help HBA Houston grow. Recently, Jenny joined HBA Houston’s board of directors as the membership and volunteering director at large.
At our event, HBA Houston also celebrated our volunteers who earned the January 2019 HBA Houston Honored Volunteer award, Kristin Farber and Allison Smolik. Over the past several months, they have been helping to plan HBA Houston programs that will engage our members. Their enthusiasm and initiative to help HBA Houston grow has been incredible. Thanks to their hard work HBA Houston is hosting our first HBA Houston panel discussion at the InterContinental Houston—Texas Medical Center on 19 February.
Our chapter’s success couldn’t be accomplished without our dedicated volunteers. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the growth and success of the HBA Houston by donating your time, energy and passion.
Thank you once again Tom Luby, head of JLABS @ TMC, for making this event possible. We hope to see you at our next event Shoot for the Stars: Success Strategies for Women in Healthcare on Tuesday, 19 February at the new InterContinental Houston – Medical Center.
