The Midwest Region has awarded, Kathryn Becker, COE president, marketing and communications, with it's 2018 LEAD Award. The Leadership, Excellence and Dedication (LEAD) award is the highest honor an HBA volunteer can be given.
Kathryn Becker is an outstanding leader and an absolute pleasure to work with. She has made a significant contribution during 2018 by embracing the new regional model in a professional manner. She has also been a fabulous role model for her team and colleagues throughout the region.
Kathryn became president of the marketing and communications Center of Excellence (COE) at the start of 2018. She secured a regional marketing team very early in the process, filling distinct roles assigned in communications, marketing and social media to drive processes and execution. She established a structure for the region and chapter marketing directors-at-large to organize templates and information, helping to facilitate chapter health and volunteer transition. She also shared her expertise with HBA Central colleagues in several ways, piloting new programs in support of the required changes. Kathryn and her team have supported the chapters, creating consistency and support with the Regional Newsletter. As a guest speaker for HBA Central marketing COE call, Kathryn facilitated the discussion and shared experiences throughout our transition to a regional structure.
Moving into 2019, Kathryn’s marketing process playbooks and training for chapters will expedite the chapter onboarding. They will have resources to support the chapter boards in developing a plan for eNewsletters, social media and advertising and promotion of events as well as streamlining communications with HBA one email program.
As the president of the COE, Kathryn has exemplified leadership excellence overall and has positively impacted the region and its ongoing success. Kathryn has been an outstanding mentor for the chapter DALs and helped to drive consistency in brand awareness. She has exemplified the importance of working with a team and helping them develop and grow as leaders in 100% alignment with the HBA mission.
