Ruth has been a long-time volunteer and ongoing contributor to the success of HBA Northern Chicago. For several years, she led a group of volunteers as part of the Programming Committee. Programming is responsible for planning and successfully executing all of the chapter events throughout the year that are focused on industry education, leadership development and networking. This is one of the most labor-intensive and pressure filled committees, but also has the most significant impact on our members and volunteers. It requires strong organizational skills, tremendous patience and a high degree of professionalism as she interfaces with our key stakeholders across the area.
After building a strong committee, creating robust operating mechanisms and instituting sustainable processes for our local chapter; Ruth has now taken on the challenge to do this for the Midwest Region. She is sharing best practices more broadly, building a committee of volunteers, developing a new level of volunteer leader, creating Regional level processes and providing support to new chapters that are just starting up. Her work will now have an even bigger impact on women working in the healthcare industry.
We are so grateful for Ruth’s volunteer leadership and wanted to recognize these efforts publicly. As a 100% volunteer run chapter and region, we couldn’t have the impact we do without volunteers like Ruth.
