HBA Cincinnati New Member Spotlight: Jacqueline Treftz

Joining the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) has been one of the smartest choices I’ve ever made for advancing my career. When I joined the HBA this past January, I was at a point in my career where I was feeling stuck. As much as I loved my organization, I no longer had room for advancement and I was struggling to find new employment opportunities that were in line with my career goals and aspirations. I feel incredibly fortunate that my friend and fellow HBA member, Kristen Jacobson, introduced me to this remarkable organization and networking group.

In these past eight months, I have had several opportunities to grow as a leader through the HBA. I’ve attended events that have helped me own and perfect my 30-second elevator speech, met with professionals who have worked with me on sharpening my negotiating skills, and I’ve also had the privilege of attending events that have featured guest speakers who make up some of Cincinnati’s greatest female leaders and professionals. I’ve also learned of career opportunities that were not widely advertised. Through my HBA connections I was able to get in front of the right people for interviews at two remarkable organizations, and ultimately one of those opportunities led to an offer of employment that I’m proud to share I’ve accepted.

If I hadn’t joined the HBA I am almost certain that I would still be spinning my wheels trying to figure out my next career move. This amazing community of women has helped me achieve my dreams in ways that I’ve never thought possible, and knowing that I have this resource moving forward is truly a gift. I look forward to continuing my HBA journey, growing my leadership skills, and helping others achieve their dreams as I continue to climb the ladder. I am so proud to be affiliated with this organization, and to also call so many members of the HBA my friends and mentors. Joining the HBA has been a wonderful investment in my career and in my future. I cannot recommend this organization enough to women seeking to advance their careers.
