HBA Houston Honored Volunteer award was presented this month to Yvonne Drew-Alvarez. Yvonne was nominated for her commitment and many contributions as a volunteer for the HBA Houston affiliate. This year, Yvonne has been scouting new venues, planning networking events and activities that will engage our members. She has demonstrated an amazing attitude, enthusiasm and initiative to help the HBA Houston affiliate grow.
Yvonne believes that her drive and optimism allows her to savor the gusto of life with the confidence that she will learn from any challenge that comes her way. She has traveled five continents, run one full marathon, run 15 half marathons, competed in two Olympic-distance triathlons, summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest freestanding mountain in the world, and hiked the Grand Canyon R2R last year. When Yvonne’s not scaling mountains or volunteering for HBA Houston, she is creating opportunities to spend precious quality time with family and friends.
Thank you, Yvonne, for your dedication to inspire and further the advancement and impact of women in the business of healthcare. HBA Houston would not be possible without the contributions of volunteers like Yvonne. She is an extraordinary volunteer and we are lucky to have her as part of the team.
