It is an exciting time to be part of the new HBA Philadelphia chapter, and I am thrilled to be leading the efforts to realize the vision of this community. As many of you know, we now have several chapters in the new Mid-Atlantic region formed by the merger of the previous HBA Greater Philadelphia and HBA Mid-Atlantic chapters. These new chapters work to bring a more local touch.
Philadelphia has a wonderfully unique and innovative healthcare environment which includes biotechs, pharma, healthcare agencies, premier medical educational institutions and healthcare systems, healthcare providers, insurers, and many more. These are the organizations we will partner and grow our membership with to provide engaging and relevant events this year.
We have our inaugural event on 15 March at KPMG with a fantastic panel of industry leaders who will share real-world examples of how they are tackling the gender parity issue. It will be a great opportunity to gain insight, advice and also network. There is still space available so be sure to register soon.
We also have exciting partnership events in April with eyeforpharma and MM&M. The HBA will be providing thought leadership at both of these events with HBA CEO Laurie Cooke leading a panel at eyeforpharma and I'll be moderating the Women in Tech panel at MM&M's Future Tech. We are pleased to offer HBA members discounted or free attendance to these events:

In addition to sharing the upcoming events and conferences, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce the HBA Philadelphia leadership team:

- Matt Johnson, vice president
- Kathryn Legath, director of operations
- Becca Nock, director at large, membership and volunteering
- Nishtha Gupta, director at large, programming
- Michele Kemp, director at large, marketing and communications
I am honored to have them onboard for 2018-19. We are looking for additional volunteers to build out the committees for membership and volunteering, programming, and marketing and communications. Please feel free to reach out directly to the leads of these teams if you are interested in learning more about opportunities, or send an email to Becca Nock.
I look forward to an amazing year for HBA Philadelphia.
President, HBA Philadelphia
