This month’s board member spotlight is on Kristy Aro, HBA New York vice president. She has been in the healthcare industry for 20 years and primarily focused on the education of both patients and healthcare professionals in spaces such as oncology and rare diseases. Kristy was recently promoted to the new role of associate director of business development at Arbor Scientia - she has been instrumental in the company’s growth into new disease states. Kristy brought the company business in hematology/oncology, immunology, cardiovascular, and infectious disease, and makes a conscious effort to maintain those relationships well after the projects are completed.
Prior to her current job, Kristy worked as an account executive at Artcraft Health Education where, in addition to her daily roles and responsibilities, she was tasked with launching and managing the company’s digital division.
Kristy has been an active member and volunteer of the HBA since 2013 and has made huge contributions since she joined our organization. Kristy’s role in the HBA has continued to evolve from board member for the New York City programs for the Metro chapter, a member of the corporate relations team, and working on events organized by the Fit to Lead program. In 2014, Kristy had an integral part in coordinating Metro’s 10th Gala Anniversary and was responsible for connecting with 10 years of HBA leadership. Previously, she has been nominated for our annual chapter LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Dedication) award and received this distinguished honor in 2016.
Kristy will be leading the discussion on “Moving the Needle: Driving Towards Gender Equality In Corporate America” on 27 September. Come join her for this great event.
