On Tuesday, 6 December, 2016, HBA Metro held our annual volunteer appreciation event to honor all of our amazing volunteers who support HBA Metro and make the HBA’s mission a reality. It was great building relationships with so many people there and having a chance to recognize those who have made outstanding contributions. We would like to take a moment to announce some special awards that were given out that evening:
The LEAD (Leadership Excellence and Dedication) award was presented to Kristy Aro, business development senior executive at Arbor Scientia, for her outstanding efforts leading the NY programs team while also working with Metro’s corporate relations, Fit to Lead and WHILS event committees. Going above and beyond the call of duty is an understatement for Kristy.
The President’s Pick award was awarded to HBA Metro’s co-director at large of volunteer engagement, Mitra Corral, senior director at CR Bard, for her continued success leading volunteer engagement: implementing new processes, planning events and representing HBA. For her efforts recognizing others, we’re thrilled to finally recognize Mitra.
The Beth Everett award was awarded to HBA Metro’s 2016 secretary, Alexis Stroud, director of ethics and compliance at Purdue Pharma. Alexis has been an exceptional secretary, demonstrating leadership in all of HBA Metro’s efforts this year and working with the 2016 nominating committee. She also has taken on leading HBA Metro’s Connecticut programs team over the course of the year in the absence of a director. She is a pleasure to work with and an outstanding example of volunteerism.
HBA Metro also recognized all our 2016 honored volunteers (as well as those nominated) and enjoyed a keynote speech from 2016 HBA STAR Deborah Coogan Seltzer.
HBA Metro thanks all of its volunteers for your service and dedication to our mission. We look forward to so many wonderful initiatives in 2017.
