HBA Kansas City held another excellent event to connect and engage with other businesswomen. The 37 attendees engaged in a networking exercise which provided an opportunity to learn a little about each other not only professionally but personally as well. Nancy Donohoo, an HBA member from St. Louis who has been a great mentor for the HBA KC affiliate in its’ establishment by providing valuable advice and suggestions, was also in attendance.
Kris Cappo, HBA Kansas City general manager, provided the exciting announcement that the HBA KC affiliate has been “promoted” to an official HBA chapter. This achievement was due to the commitment and engagement of many women in Kansas City. Congratulations to the Kansas City members for this milestone.
Recognition was also given to Quest colleagues in attendance, as Quest received the HBA ACE (Advancement, Commitment, Engagement) award at the HBA Annual Conference recently held in St. Louis, MO. This award recognizes internal leadership programs that successfully perform advancing and enhancing the careers of women in their respective organizations. Pat O’Brien and the Quest women’s leadership group in Kansas City were very involved in the award submission and honors at the Annual Conference. Congratulations.
Volunteer opportunities are available to help lead event planning sub-committees and lead volunteer management. Please contact Vanessa Mittendorf if you would like to help.
We have an exciting event scheduled for 23 February, 2017 that you won’t want to miss. As social media can be a valuable source for professional networking, we are providing a speaker that will share tips on creating a great LinkedIn profile, as well as have a photographer on-site to take professional head-shots for use on LinkedIn and other professional purposes.
