Letter from Indiana chapter president Jennifer Muszik

Wonderful HBA-IN chapter members,

I appreciate the opportunity to connect with each of you as we start 2015…well, at least early in the year…to share a few highlights about what you can expect from HBA-IN in 2015, and how we are working to fulfill the HBA mission:

To further the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide

Four opportunities to “Connect. Share. Grow.” with HBA-IN in 2015 include:

Mentoring Program

We are excited to launch our 2015 mentoring program on March 11! Mentoring is something very near and dear to my heart as I would not be where I am today without the help of many mentors along the way. That said, something I realized not long ago was, that while I was looking up to find great mentors, there were others looking at me for mentorship. Wow! I really didn’t see myself as a mentor, but as I started to engage in mentoring, I realized the value I had to offer…all the great advice that had been given to me through the year. If you are interested in being a mentor, a mentee, or just want more information, I encourage you to check out the link below.

Educational Programming

While we’ve had great programs in the past, one request I had for our programs committee in 2015 is to host program series that would allow attendees to take something away, work on it, and come back to the next session to learn more. I am excited to share that we are planning two program series this year, the first is “Owning Your Own Development”.  Programs in this series include:

  • Making the Most of Your Development Plan – March 25 at the Renaissance hotel in Carmel
  • Mentor, Sponsor, Connector & Coach – date, time and location TBD
  • Community Building – How Women Network Differently – date, time and location TBD

For more information on our 2015 programs, contact our co-directors of programming, Mona and Ana, and watch for the HBA newsletter delivered to your inbox every other Thursday.

If you are interested in getting more involved between programs, we have plenty of volunteer opportunities among our committees. To learn more, please connect with Jillian Penny at an event or via e-mail.

Staying Connected

We want to ensure you get information on upcoming events, opportunities to engage and more – so please connect with us on social media!

In closing, I want to thank the women who have raised their hands to serve on the 2015 HBA-IN Chapter Board!  Please know how much we all truly appreciate the opportunity to serve our membership. However, we want to hear from you, too! What’s working? What do you want more of? How we can help?  This is your chapter.  Let us know how to make this the first place women in Indiana come to Connect. Share. Grow.
