Poster awards at 2014 HBA Annual Conference

"Three industry posters were recognized during the 2014 HBA Annual Conference," announced 2014 poster chair Karen Habucky, PhD, of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation.
Winner of the Most Outstanding Poster award was “Harnessing the Power of HBA for Healthcare Career Development: Genentech Pilot Program” by Carol Wells, Rebecca Vermeulen, Donna E. Goldman, Leila Mosavi Maulik, Connie Ko, Christina Fox, and Maureen George of Genentech, Inc.
Two posters received a Special Recognition award: “Leaving a Legacy: Baby Boomer Women and the Influence of Experience on Leadership Behavior” by Marsha L. Shetsky of Baxter Healthcare Corporation  and George W. Hay from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology  and “Healthcare’s New Entrants: Who Will Be the Industry’s” by Jantzen O’Neal and Trine Tsouderos of the PwC Health Research Institute.
The awards were presented on November 13 during the “Meet the Authors” portion of the Poster Session by content committee academic advisor Kris Risi, PhD, of Drexel University, LeBow College of Business. “Each of these submissions brought something new and different to this year’s session,” said Dr. Risi.  “We congratulate the winners and all those who contributed their content to the conference in poster form.” Winners were chosen by the 2014 HBA Annual Conference content committee leadership.
“We were extremely pleased with the quality and caliber of submissions,” added Dr. Habucky. “Posters provide another forum to share key content—research findings, new models/programs, and best practices—with conference participants by showcasing these offerings and initiatives in visual form. They add a new dimension to what one can learn and bring back from the HBA Annual Conference.”
“Posters were added to the conference agenda in 2013,” stated Liz Stueck, HBA’s director of education, “and the 2014 Poster Session built on that success. We look forward to seeing this session continue to grow in 2015.”
Note: The Call for Posters for the 2015 HBA Annual Conference in Atlanta will open soon.  For questions about the abstract submission process or deadlines, contact Liz Stueck.
