The HBA Boston chapter thanks and congratulates the Q1 2014 CAP award winners The Contribution and Participation (CAP) award for the HBA Boston chapter is a way to recognize the efforts of our many wonderful volunteers who contribute their time, talent and energy to help the chapter fulfill the organization’s mission to further the advancement of women in healthcare worldwide. Each quarter, several volunteers who have shown a strong commitment and made an outstanding volunteer contribution to HBA are recognized with this special award. This quarter, the ConnectCafe team – Jessica Blaustein, Karen Carmody and Lynn Mar – working with director Kelly Linehan have developed and launched a new initiative within the HBA Boston chapter to make real the vision of “connect for success” in a way that creates deeper and more meaningful connections between professional women in healthcare, and bringing members and sponsors closer to the HBA. Known collectively as “team awesome,” and individually as “she rocks,” each member of the group contributed their own unique skills to get the ConnectCafe forum off the ground, which – after three events – has been a resounding success. Working together with the marketing team, Jessica has applied her marketing experience to shape the brand and the communications; Karen, a skilled coach has moderated and led development of the format of each event; and Lynn, with superb organizational skills and attention to detail has managed the operations and logistics of each event. ConnectCafe has helped to make this year’s Connect for Success come alive in a new way, is a great addition to the lineup of HBA Boston chapter events, and wouldn’t have happened without the dedication and commitment of this group.
