The HBA Metro chapter recently held Fashion’s Night Out in New York City, in partnership with Macy’s Herald Square and co-sponsored by GSK and DSM. More than 40 HBA members attended.
This interactive, first-of-its-kind event was designed to help professional women on the business value of dressing for success, through fashionable and work appropriate attire. Linda Lee, group vice president Macy's by appointment/corporate sales, led the event and was supported by Jerry Johnson, global artist at Laura Mercier.
Linda led a team of HBA women who showcased multiple outfits – spanning career, business casual, weekend and evening styles - utilizing 12 basic pieces from the Spring collection. Volunteer models were: Vicki Guida, MaryAnne Rizk, Lauren Diamond, Alma Azua-Cassady, Andrea Cestaro and Lauren Peck.
Jerry made over the lucky raffle winner while explaining easy makeup techniques to the audience.
Several raffle winners walked away with some amazing prizes, including wallets by Kate Spade and Coach, HBA and Tory Burch scarves, and a one-hour image or closet consultation with Christine DeAngelo.
Attendees were generally impressed with the program and stated that they would love to make something like this a more regular event at the end of the program.
About the success of this event, MaryAnne Rizk, HBA Metro chapter board director, noted: “Fashion is an integral part of business; it's the impression you choose to leave behind in business. This event was designed to empower women to enable their business poise from head to toe.”
