Event recap: Healthcare Networking Social for Device, Diagnostic and Pharmaceutical Companies

written by Priya Mitty, clinical trial management associate, Gilead; HBA San Francisco chapter marketing committee, social media chair

The ‘Healthcare Networking Social’ hosted by Cooley LLP brought together men and women from the device, diagnostic and pharma/biotech spaces. Molly Crawley, an HBA San Francisco chapter programs committee volunteer, also organized a special networking introduction ensuring networking newbies had proper skills to be successful in their networking efforts.

HBA members and potential new members congregated on Cooley LLP’s beautiful patio over appetizers and drinks. People displayed excitement about the HBA San Francisco chapter, and many new members attended. Tracy Maida, HBA San Francisco chapter corporate relations board member, gave an encouraging introduction emphasizing how the HBA provides a safe environment to test out new ideas.

The HBA membership committee raffled a copy of Sheryl Sandberg’s book ‘Lean-In’ to one lucky member. In addition, one-on-one professional coaching sessions were raffled to both a new member and a renewing member adding excitement to the event. It was a special event in which members of across healthcare fields came together. Cooley LLP has a strong stake in the healthcare sector being responsible for bringing both Amgen and Genentech to the public markets. The event was huge success with a record turnout, and members look forward to attending more events at Cooley. Thank you to all in attendance and remember to connect to the HBA San Francisco chapter on Twitter @HBANetSF if you are unable to attend a live HBA event.
