Information for Triathlon Day–come out and cheer for the Fit to Lead team

Thank you for your interest and support of the HBA GP chapter Fit to Lead Triathlon team.

We hope you can come out and cheer for the team on Saturday, June 22. All fans are welcome so bring your family and friends.

Here is some information about the day-of-race activities.

Which race is our team competing in?
Our team is competing on June 22 in the Sprint event (swim 800 meters, bike 15.7 miles, run 3.1 miles).

Where can chapter members (and fans) meet to cheer on the team?
We will meet in Fairmount Park at the intersection of West River Drive & Black Road. This meeting point is convenient to the bike turnaround, transition area and finish line. Look for the big tree with a purple sash. (see picture at bottom of page)

Where can I park?
Parking will be available at the “Please Touch Museum” (4231 Avenue of the Republic, Philadelphia, PA) and also near Fairmount Park. Wear comfortable shoes to walk from the parking area to the meeting place.

After the race, feel free check out The Expo which will be held under a large white tent on Smith Field, adjacent to the Please Touch Museum.

When should I get there?
HBA GP chapter volunteers will be at the meeting place (intersection of West River Drive & Black Road) starting at 7:00 AM; however you can arrive at your convenience. The official event start time is 7:30 AM and most athletes should finish between 9:45 AM and 10:30 AM.

What should I bring?
Dress for comfort. You can bring a chair if you would like to sit as well as some water and snacks. Food and drink will not be available for purchase.

When can I get a glimpse of the athletes?
The best times will be at the end of the swim when they transition to their bikes, at the turnaround point of the bike leg, at the start of the run and at the finish line. Click here for the race course.

How can I identify the HBA GP chapter Fit to Lead triathlon team?
They will be wearing teal wrist bands and white hats with the Fit to Lead logo during the bike and run legs of the race.
