HBA Ohio chapter past president named 2013 Visionary Award finalist

Each year, the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Columbus Visionary Award honors one Central Ohio woman business owner who has achieved success with her business while making notable contributions to her community, her industry and to initiatives for other women in business.

The HBA Ohio chapter is proud to announce that one of its founding members and Past President Pat Gibson, is one of this year’s finalists.

The HBA Ohio chapter is proud to announce that one of its founding members and Past President Pat Gibson, is one of this year’s finalists.

NAWBO Columbus hosts this coveted award as a prestigious way to recognize and showcase the amazing women who not only own and operate businesses that are vital to Ohio's economy, but also find time and resources to identify needs and drive social change. These visionary women make Central Ohio better and stronger for all of us.

Nominated by their peers, the nominees and the selection process remain confidential until the finalists are announced in early May.

Gibson is the owner and president of PMG Communications where her visionary leadership has guided the growth of PMG Communications for nearly 20 years as it has evolved from a corporate video production company into a full service strategic communications firm. PMG’s success is the result of Gibson’s years of experience and expertise in developing communications strategy and leading teams of media development professionals through a wide range of projects.

In addition to her involvement with the HBA, Gibson is also the founder and past president of Women for Economic & Leadership Development (WELD), a state-wide organization focused on the advancement of women. She serves on the advisory board for the Center for Entrepreneurship at The Ohio State University, where she is a frequent volunteer, and is a member of the Lt. Governor’s Round Table for Women-Owned Businesses.

Gibson has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People in Columbus, Ohio by Small Business News and as a 2002 & 2003 Newsmaker by Business First. She is a graduate of Indiana University, where she has been a featured speaker.
