HBA Florida is pleased to announce our panelists for the upcoming April 24th event "Navigating the Changing Healthcare Landscape". This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from a prestigious panel of executives that will provide different vantage points on the nation's rapidly changing healthcare landscape and the impacts of healthcare reform on businesses, providers and, most importantly, patients. The event will be held onsite at Florida Hospital Pepin Heart Institute beginning at 5:30 the evening and we would like to thank Florida Hospital for sponsoring this event. Now it’s time to meet our panelists:

John Harding
President and CEO, Florida Hospital Tampa

John has over 30 years of experience leading both profit and not-for-profit organizations. For more than 25 years, he has served as the chief executive officer of several hospitals and hospital systems across the state of Florida. John has deep health care experience in acute care, outpatient/ambulatory care settings, physician practices, as well as experience in joint ventures, hospital acquisitions and physician practice acquisition and alignment strategies. He is known for being on the forefront of technology and has implemented multiple voice-recognition, Cerner and computerized provider order entry (CPOE) initiatives. He is a pioneer and innovator in health care delivery systems, resulting in dramatic changes in medical services and how they are provided.

Janene Culumber
Senior Vice President & CFO, Moffitt Cancer Center

As the senior vice president of finance/chief financial officer, Janene supervises the accounting, finance, patient financial services, health information management, materials management and managed care contracting departments. Prior to this promotion, Janene served as the research finance officer since 2001. During this time, she successfully coordinated and negotiated Moffitt's first indirect cost rate proposal. She restructured the financial functions in research and developed a post-award grants department to handle compliance. In 2004, Janene was recognized as Moffitt's Employee of the Year. Before her tenure at Moffitt, Janene was a senior manager at KPMG, LLP for eight years. She holds a master's degree in accounting from the University of Florida and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Elizabeth “Liz” Cahn Goodman
Vice President of Public Policy, WellCare Health Plans

Liz has more than fifteen years of diverse experience in law, government and health care. As vicepPresident of public policy, Liz leads a team responsible for analysis of state and federal policy making, including all aspects of health care reform. As a part of these responsibilities, Liz and her team collaborate with the company’s market and product teams as well as state and federal regulators and decision-makers on the specifics of exchange implementation. Prior to taking on this role, Liz served as vice president of managed long term care at WellCare. In this role she was responsible for product design, analysis of industry trends, assessment of customer and member needs and preferences, identification and incorporation of best practices and analysis of state and federal policy relating to managed long term care. From 2004-2006, Liz served as WellCare’s director of government affairs.

Joseph WN Rugg

Joe Rugg has over 30 years of experience in representing healthcare providers, licensed professionals, and business clients in their transactional, tax, corporate and organizational, and regulatory matters. He has extensive experience in representing physicians and physician groups, including hospital medical staffs and independent practice associations, diagnostic imaging centers, and ambulatory surgery centers. He has assisted healthcare providers and other clients in acquiring, selling, merging, and separating their businesses. Joe understands and integrates the various legal, regulatory, tax, securities, and business issues that impact transactions in the area of healthcare. Having previously served as in-house counsel for small healthcare providers, Joe is sensitive to the practical issues that arise in healthcare businesses. Joe has been recognized by Chambers USA and The Best Lawyers in America as one of the leading healthcare lawyers in Florida.

T. David Lewis
President and Chief Executive Officer, UnitedHealthcare of Florida Inc.

David Lewis has overall responsibility for the operations of UnitedHealthcare’s commercial insurance business in Florida. UnitedHealthcare of Florida serves more than 2.6 million total members through a network of 230 hospitals and 28,000 physicians. David earned a BS in finance and risk management from the University of Alabama. He earned the professional designations of Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) from the American College  of Financial Services. He is a veteran of more than 25 years in health care administration. David serves as a board member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Tampa, the Tampa Bay Partnership, the Florida Association of Health Plans, and the Florida Healthcare Consumer Assistance Plan.  He is also a member of the Tampa Rotary Club and the Outback Bowl Team Selection Committee.
