The HBA Boston chapter will continue to meet the needs of our diverse healthcare market in 2013. What’s in store?

Our goals for 2013 are to:

  • Deliver differentiated programming
  • Provide access to thought leaders
  • Help women develop their managerial and  leadership skills
  • Be the place in Boston where women find  ‘women like me’

In 2013, our theme for all activities will be “Equipping for Change.” We in the HBA, as well as all of healthcare, are facing tremendous changes as new healthcare policies are being implemented and all companies and providers struggle with cost-effective access to health therapies and services. As we build our career plans we face the challenge of staying current with all. The HBA is here to help.

The programs we have planned for 2013 will be outstanding, thanks to our talented program directors and their committees. The focus will be to help businesswomen in all segments (biotech, pharma, med device, provider, payer and data) by giving them an understanding of how the changes affect career opportunities and how to better navigate this changing landscape.

Our diverse programming meets the needs of  healthcare businesswomen at all career stages, functional areas and industry sectors

  • Mentoring: Enrollment is now in progress for mentors and mentees. The program, now in its 8th year, offers women the chance to work together to address challenges in their careers today, set career goals for tomorrow and take real steps to make them happen.
  • Industry programs: The first of four programs for the year is now open for registration, and will focus on changes in market and patient access to healthcare as they impact product development. Watch our Boston homepage for announcements of future programs.
  • Leadership Success Series (LSS): There will be four programs for the year with the first one in March. LSS programs are typically day-long workshops offer soft skill development to enhance your career success.
  • Women in Science (WIS) : Again, there will be four programs for the year, helping women from scientific careers focus on their careers and desired career changes. The first program will be a Diary of a Leader, to be held in March.
  • Executive Womens Series (EWS): EWS is an invitation-only program for women at the director level and above, providing access to executive thought leaders and network development at senior organizational levels.
  • Volunteer programs: This year, we will have two volunteer programs. The programs feature awards for outstanding volunteers, inspirational speakers describing the benefits of becoming involved and an opportunity to learn more about how you can participate in the HBA Boston chapter.
  • Healthcare Forum: Last year, we launched a highly successful and very well attended Healthcare Forum. A stellar panel of speakers, led by healthcare reporter Martha Bebinger, discussed pending changes in healthcare. The 2013 panel will continue the discussion and be held in June. Watch for announcements.

Follow all of our announcements of upcoming events in our weekly HBA eBulletins, on our Boston homepage and on our social sites.

We are looking forward to a stellar year and advancement in your career as we work together to master the changes in healthcare delivery facing our industry.
