The HBA Chicago chapter recognized Marlene LaPorte as “Volunteer of the Month”.

Marlene is a member of the membership committee. She is an HBA ambassador to anyone interested in learning more about the organization. Her enthusiasm and energy are unrivaled. She has made innumerable calls to non-members that have attended events as well as to members up for renewal. She never tires of reaching out to women to make sure they understand the value of the HBA membership.

Marlene joined about a year and a half ago and immediately joined the mentoring group. She found it incredibly valuable and met a lot of wonderful people that made her want to get more involved. She discovered there was a huge need for volunteer hours in the membership committee and felt called to fill that gap.

Marlene advises new members that it is only when you volunteer that you actually realize the ability to truly network within the organization. The single best way to meet new people and really build relationships is through volunteering. She truly is a huge cheerleader for the HBA and is willing to step in where ever the organization needs her to help out.

The HBA Chicago chapter truly appreciates Marlene for her enthusiasm and effort.
