HBA Chicago chapter kicks off 2012 with “Reinventing Yourself in a Changing Healthcare Environment”

Over 125 people attended the HBA Chicago chapter’s first program of 2012, “Reinventing Yourself in a Changing Healthcare Environment,” held on January 19, 2012 at the Westin Chicago North Shore.  The event kicked off with an informal networking session followed by the presentation of the new HBA Chicago 2012 board.

Three individuals were recognized for their accomplishments and contributions to the healthcare industry:

Debra Kurtz: board member most dedicated to professional education and networking

Diane Summers: member most dedicated to professional education and networking

Les Stern: fantastic volunteer of the month

During the dinner, the program featured guest speakers which included Rita Glaze (DJE Science, moderator), Sally Benjamin Young (Lundbeck), Pamela Browner-White (Cancer Treatment Centers of America) and Tracie Hass (Abbott). These women executives shared their stories and advice on how to "Reinvent Yourself in a Changing Healthcare Environment." Specifically, the speakers provided insight on four main objectives:

  1. Strategies for managing your career in today's healthcare environment
  2. Leveraging your transferable skills and building new skills
  3. Identifying where and how we can successfully navigate in a changing environment
  4. Determining what you need to be doing to better prepare for future changes

This exciting program was the first in a series that will help the HBA’s members learn how to invigorate, innovate and transform their careers and their organizations in 2012.
