In October, the HBA Chicago Chapter engaged the services of APEX, a meeting management and special events company. This reflects the chapter’s growth to a new level of size and sophistication. With over 350 members and monthly meetings that can attract over 100 people, this change was due. Apex will now take on many routine meeting and event functions and logistics, assuring continuation of the high level of coordination previously undertaken by our dedicated volunteers. This change was made for two import reasons:

  • to allow the HBA Chicago Chapter to continue its growth and prepare for the high caliber ‘Red Carpet’ programs being planned for 2011 and beyond
  • to allow our valued volunteers to engage in areas of programming and leadership

A team of board members conducted a review. APEX was selected, according to Therese McCall president of the board of directors, “due to their experience in the non-profit sector, dedicated staff, and track record in managing costs, increasing revenue, and providing outstanding professional service.”
