HBA’s mission is to further the advancement and impact of women in healthcare worldwide. This is accomplished in numerous ways including two new offerings: a job board and the Women in Transition Affinity group.
The HBA corporate board’s business development committee under Ilyssa Levins, president and founder of the Center for Communications Compliance brought the career center to the HBA to benefit members and corporate partners. HBA members can post a resume and create a job search agent to email jobs right to them. “In addition to receiving discounted job postings,” says Ilyssa, “HBA corporate partners will have access to a database of stellar, top-notch candidates, saving time and money in their recruitment efforts.” Go to http://careers.hbanet.org to post a job or search for the position that will advance your career.
For the job seekers among us, the HBA also offers the Women in Transition (WIT) affinity group. The group was founded in response to the uncertain economic environment with a mission to assist HBA members during career transition by providing resources, education, and a venue for targeted networking. “The group offers an intimate setting that promotes discussion and a mechanism for women to share concerns and valuable insights, says Susan Lang, co-chair of WIT from the Greater Philadelphia chapter. “A Job Search Work Team (JSWT) was formed to lend career transition support,” adds WIT co-chair Alma Azua Cassady. The JSWT meets weekly to support each other in the job search and to serve as a personal board of advisors.” Contact the WIT group for more information.
These efforts showcase how membership in the HBA provides value at all stages of your career. Share your thoughts on these efforts by joining the discussion in our members-only LinkedIn group.
