2010 Group Mentoring Program – Apply Now

The Metro Chapter is pleased to announce the launch of its Third Annual Group Mentoring Program. The application process for this limited-enrollment program is now open.

If you’re an industry leader—or looking to become one—here’s your chance learn, grow, and forge relationships with others who want to do the same in an outcomes-oriented, results-driven program. Mentoring takes place in small groups — 2 Mentors are matched with 4 Mentees—and each team shares a common mentoring area of focus. Groups meet twice monthly and in-person, whenever possible.

MENTEE OR MENTOR?

  • Mentees are emerging leaders. They have a strong sense of their development needs and can identify one or more areas in which they need mentoring support. They set a specific goal at the beginning of the program and work to achieve it. Mentees must have the time to prepare for their group’s meetings, fully participate in these sessions, and then “do the work”—that is, be willing to stretch, take risks, and use resources to tackle their mentoring goal. To make the most of the program, Mentees should plan to spend a minimum of 4 hours per month on program-related work and activities. The 2010 Mentee Course Fee is $375.
  • Mentors are seasoned healthcare executives. They have a keen sense of their strengths and the ability and experience necessary to guide their Mentees. Mentors are willing to share of themselves—relaying stories and anecdotes from their own careers, recounting successes and failures, offering ideas and approaches, and identifying tools and connections. Most Mentors have at least 10 years’ experience in a director-level or higher position in pharma or 15 years’ experience in a senior management position (eg, SVP, EVP, Managing Partner) in a pharma-related service organization or industry. Mentors have worked with and developed both individuals and teams. They are the cornerstone of this program, donating their time and talents to their groups. As volunteers, Mentors do not pay a course fee.
