- Barbara Bull joins the HBA as Event Database Specialist: Bull comes to the HBA with over 25 years experience as a professional manager in customer service, sales, product management, and inventory control arenas. Bull has successfully opened and managed 2 different real estate brokerage firms along with a North Carolina licensed Real Estate School. Prior to her career in real estate, Barbara worked in the electronic distribution field for close to 25 years in capacities that ranged from data entry clerk to sales manager and branch manager of a busy New York facility. In 1995, Barbara’s family relocated to Raleigh, NC, where she received a promotion to product and inventory control management.
Barbara has worked with the HBA as a part-time contract employee for 2 years, handling projects such as cleaning data prior to integrating into the new membership database. She also played an instrumental role in advancing the organization’s reporting capabilities and served as the welcoming voice to HBA Rising Stars.
- Nikki Jones joins the HBA as Director, Finance and Administration: Jones comes to the HBA with significant experience in accounting and finance. Prior to joining the HBA, she worked as a consultant with Robert Half Management Resources, where she provided accounting and financial advice to non-profit charitable organizations and for-profit start-up ventures. Previously, she worked as a senior financial analyst at Mistras Group, a senior financial analyst at Johnson & Johnson, and a pharmacy accounting financial reporting manager at Prudential HealthCare/Aetna.
Nikki has a BS in Accounting where she graduated Cum Laude from Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, NC.
- Carol Meerschaert joins the HBA as Director of Marketing and Communications: Meerschaert currently works as the assistant director of marketing for the American Association for Cancer Research. Prior to this position, she served in a variety of professional positions including president of Genesis Biologics, Inc., a small biotech company. She has also worked as a nutrition and marketing consultant, in which role she conducted lectures, published articles in both professional publications and journal, and appeared on CNN, Boston’s NBC affiliate, and in 10+ radio interviews. Meerschaert previously worked as executive director of the Massachusetts Dietetic Association and the Massachusetts Dietitians Educational Foundation and director of marketing at Catch a Piece of Maine.
Carol graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BS in Nutrition and Dietetics from The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and an MBA from the University of Southern Maine.
