Current role with the HBA: HBA Philadelphia member experience lead
I volunteer for the united force for change because I want to ensure HBA members are the best versions of themselves and they reach their highest potential.
Volunteering has impacted my career by enabling leadership opportunities, helping me build skills and giving me life-long friends.
My favorite HBA event was completing my first triathlon with the HBA Fit To Lead team. The triathlon is just the launching point for a complete initiative focused on leadership and ‘management from within.’
The most valuable lesson I learned from a fellow volunteer is how to lead effectively and how to prioritize my goals.
My favorite part of volunteering for the HBA is meeting and getting to know wonderful leaders and leaders in training. The HBA has been a very enriching experience. Working with smart, talented women and their supporters has broadened my perspectives, learning and leadership opportunities.
What would be your advice to someone thinking about joining or getting more involved with the HBA? Just do it! Start with some events to see if we can align with your goals, and then start small with volunteering. Eventually you’ll be doing more than you ever thought you could.
