Frequently asked questions

In the interest of protecting the health and welfare of registered attendees, the Woman of the Year, the Salute to the Stars, the 3BC Summit and other related activities will not be taking place as scheduled.

We are exploring options including—in all likelihood—moving the event to a later date. We are certain that this signature HBA offering will remain as the exciting and dynamic industry event that it is known to be, offering high visibility recognition of award honorees as well as all key stakeholders.

The HBA team is consulting with our event hotel and meeting experts now and plans to announce the reimagined Woman of the Year (and ancillary events) as soon as we are able.

All reservations must be cancelled with the hotel directly, 72 hours prior to previously scheduled arrival to avoid penalty. Individuals are responsible to cancel their reservations through the hotel by calling +1 212-398-1900. The HBA will not cancel hotel reservations for any Woman of the Year attendees.

With the HBA working to reimagine an exciting event, we encourage individuals and companies to retain their registration(s) which will secure attendance and a seat for the new date.

In light of the circumstances, we are extending our cancellation deadline from 1 April to 29 April so that we can share the new plans with you. If you opt to cancel, a completed cancellation form must be received in writing via email to hba@hbanet.org no later than 29 April. A refund will be issued minus a $150 USD administrative fee.

Like the rescheduling of the in-person event, we will offer a virtual programming element so we ask for your patience as these details are assessed and finalized.

At this time, we anticipate equal if not greater opportunities to showcase your sponsorship at a reimagined WOTY so we encourage you to maintain your sponsorship to support the HBA. In the event our new plans don’t meet your expectations, the HBA will revisit the sponsorship contracts at that time to determine the best course of action.

We will still create the WOTY commemorative program for the soon-to-be-announced reimagined WOTY, and your ad will be placed. Whether we print this program or create it digitally for an even larger distribution is still to be determined.

Due to these unique circumstances, we are considering options for visibility and exposure for Rising Stars and Luminaries during and after the event. Once our plans are finalized, we will communicate with you and your companies.

Like the world at large, we are all in uncharted territory and so we appreciate your patience as we address unprecedented issues as they arise.
