We are proud to showcase the HBA regions, partners and volunteer leaders across the globe hosting events and activities in celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month.

These events are open to all members.

A change agent is an individual who has the capacity and foresight to spot problems and opportunities, envision and describe a better future, and act and inspire others to implement solutions within the workplace. Change agents have the ability to alter the deeply held beliefs of others simply by being authentic. They can transform teams, departments, offices and entire workplaces. Join Beatrice Lavery, VP, global oncology regulatory head, Roche, in a thought provoking discussion on how to lead as an agent of change.

During this table talk, we’ll discuss the role that technology and data can play in the drive towards greater diversity, equity and inclusion. When does it make sense to dismantle a system and start from scratch vs. iteratively fix what’s broken? What actions will show that we’re on the right path, are little ones acceptable in the path to progress or will only the big changes matter? How will we measure success?

While diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) are at risk during a crisis or downturn, it's important for companies to recognize the key role they play in recovery, resilience and overall success in the future. Effective DE&I strategies will help better support employees, build culture and create a thriving business. Employees will feel more engaged as they show up to work every day – whether in person or online – feeling safe, connected and heard.

WoW (Woman of the Week) One-Day Virtual Event

Join PharmaVOICE as leaders from across the industry wow us with their passion, powerful lessons of leadership, and grit and determination. This exciting event complements the second annual WoW Anthology ebook featuring 53 executive women’s stories on business and leadership from 2020. HB8 Supper Club - Table Talk with Erin Lavelle and Vanessa Nortey

The broken rung refers to the phenomenon where women, especially women of color, don't get promoted as often as men, preventing them from reaching the top. Research conducted by McKinsey & Company and LeanIn.org show that for every 100 men promoted and hired to manager, only 72 women are promoted and hired. Join Erin Lavelle and Vanessa Nortey in a candid discussion on addressing fixing the broken rung and getting to gender parity.

On 8 March every year, we celebrate International Women’s Day, a great occasion to recognise the achievements towards a more inclusive and gender equal world. This year, Amsterdam, Brussels and Milan chapters will jointly honour the day, through a celebration full of music and courageous conversations.

8 March - World Economic Forum
Shaping the Future of Health and Healthcare

The COVID pandemic gave visibility to a group of female leaders who anticipated successful responses and advanced the impact of women in healthcare. Studies have demonstrated that women leaders showed success in managing and controlling the sanitary crisis and gave lights to inspiring and competent business women. Join HBA President and CEO Laurie Cooke as she moderates a female leadership panel discussion on succeeding in a time of a pandemic.

8-10 March - Dynamic Global Events
6th Advancing Women’s Leadership Skill & Opportunities in Pharma & Healthcare

Take a virtual seat at the table as experts from top pharmas, medical device companies and healthcare organizations share their stories, actionable tips and practiced advice to guide this generation of women on their path forward. This event will feature HBA members and leaders including Adam Dubow, Tara Herington, Michael O’Brien, Kanchan Relwani and Jhaymee Tynan.

9 March - HBA Europe
Men as Allies

As we celebrate International Women’s Day, HBA Europe will partner with Stephen Frost to develop a virtual workshop tailored to engage and understand personal contributions to developing men as allies in the workplace. Our objective is to shed light on this very important initiative and provide clarity around what allyship looks like in the workplace and how men can position themselves to become better allies to women to advance their leadership opportunities.

Get to know HBA Europe Affinity Groups

The affinity groups are an important add-on, most of the time not explored, of your HBA membership. In this session you will get to know the key areas of the European affinity groups, understand their benefits and how can be part of them.

International Women’s Day 2021: Choosing to Lead

This year's International Women's Day theme, #ChoosetoChallenge, pushes us to reflect on our thoughts and actions to overcome gender bias and inequity by inspiring innovation and reimagination. In an increasingly digital world, how can we make our community more inclusive to support women leaders in 2021 and beyond?

Yes, You Can! #ChooseToChallenge

In our workshop, Eike Westerholt, internationally active coach and business woman, will show us some of the ways we can leverage positive intelligence to activate power to act without fear or emotional distractions. By confronting our internal ‘saboteurs’ we will practice how we can focus on the ‘sage’ within us so that we can confidently #ChoosetoChallenge.
