You might have a diverse workforce, but chances are those diverse employees do not feel included. Incivility, microaggressions, man-terruptions, and other insidious and exclusionary behaviors no doubt occur every single day in your organization. At first glance they may seem small and not important enough to step in (in comparison to harassment, for example). Over time, however, they break people down and an exclusive and even toxic culture ensues. If you’re not stepping in, you’re supporting and reinforcing an exclusive workplace.
