Theresa leads Merck manufacturing division (MMD) learning and development as part of global learning and development whose mission is to shape Merck’s future by building people capabilities through relevant, continuous learning experiences. Specifically for MMD, Theresa leads the L&D team to enable operating units (biologics/therapeutic proteins, vaccines, small molecule and animal health) and functions (quality, supply chain, and contract manufacturing organizations/network) to achieve the manufacturing the future strategy by 2020. Prior to joining the manufacturing division, Theresa held various strategic and client-facing leadership roles in the US market and then global human health learning and development to develop commercial capabilities across all commercial roles in marketing, market access, account management, business development and sales. Theresa has also led several cross-enterprise learning teams to support organizational transformational initiatives including: end to end, Merck culture post-merger, business development and customer centricity.
Prior to Merck, Theresa worked as a learning leader for Nutri/System corporate and franchise businesses and at NovaCare Rehabilitation Services. Outside of Merck, Theresa supports non-profit organizations in their strategic planning and leadership development. Theresa received her BS in industrial/organizational psychology from the Pennsylvania State University and her MA in training, communication and organization development from the University of Maryland. Theresa is married with one son.
