As the VP at Novo Nordisk, Joanne leads the commercial effectiveness function - the Center of Excellence for strategic and tactical guidance, providing knowledge and actionable insights to drive objective, evidence-based decision making. The department consists of data governance and systems, field force effectiveness, marketing effectiveness, market access effectiveness, biopharm CE and patient support programs. Joanne leads and acts as advisor in a large range of strategic projects and processes, securing optimized resource allocation and return on investments.
 
Joanne joined Novo Nordisk in 2007 and has held multiple leadership roles in commercial effectiveness, building the department to support organization decisions through market research, business analytics, competitive intelligence, forecasting, and marketing investment/ROI analysis, data management and governance, building patient support programs to support patients, incentive compensation, resource allocation, targeting, segmentation and call planning. 
 
She has been recognized within the company for her role in various strategic projects and was an HBA Rising Star in 2013 and most recently as Working Mother of the Year in 2016.
 
Joanne has chaired Women in Novo Nordisk (WiNN) for the past three years and has partnered with her colleagues to offer opportunities supporting the development and advancement of women at the company through programming and leadership summits, building the next generation of women leaders in the organization.
 
Joanne has been in the pharmaceutical industry for more than 25 years. She spent 10 years at Wyeth, beginning her career as a biochemist and moving to new product development/business development on the commercial side. She continued her analytics career with a move to Rhône-Poulenc Rorer/Aventis/Sanofi where she spent nine years in various analytical leadership roles. 
 
She received her BS in biology with a minor in education from Villanova University, and completed her MBA in marketing at LaSalle University in Philadelphia. Joanne has been married to husband, Chris, for 25 years and has three children, Emelia, Christopher, and Michael. Joanne spends her free time volunteering, kick boxing and baking.
