Amy is currently group vice president, US commercial operations at Shire. In this role, she is responsible for all US sales and marketing operations, US commercial learning and development, and US analytics and operational excellence. She joined Shire having been VP, strategy, planning and analytics within Baxalta where she was established Baxalta’s corporate strategy function and also managed the global customer intelligence and analytics team, based in Chicago and Boston.
Prior to her roles in the US, Amy has held UK, European and International roles. She joined Baxter (Baxalta) over 14 years ago where she built the UK and Ireland market access team. During her time in the UK she also built a nationally differentiated portfolio account team called Evolving Health with the aim of implementing innovative access strategies. She then moved into a European role and established the business model innovation team for Europe where she travelled to both established and emerging markets globally to review innovative treatment pathways and access schemes.
She started her career as a political researcher and speechwriter for the UK front bench spokesperson on foreign affairs in the House of Lords. She has a strong background in private and public healthcare having worked as an associate for APCO Worldwide in London, Sacramento and San Francisco supporting a wide range of public sector companies. Prior to her multiple roles in Baxter and Shire, she held positions at the National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the NHS Confederation.
