For many years, the oncology community has desired to treat tumors according to their genetic profile rather than basing treatment solely on the tissue involved. To realize this vision, 'basket' clinical trials are increasingly used to test different tumors in a single trial based on a shared biomarker or mutation.

HBA Europe chapter - WIS – Entrepreneurship: Basel- April 12, 2011

Dr. Christine Burhenn was the speaker at the HBA-WIS event in Basel, focusing on the topic of Entrepreneurship. Christine has held a variety of national and international director positions in the pharmaceutical industry, and she served as CEO of a major pharmaceutical company in Switzerland.

Entrepreneurship is about making choices, taking risks, mastering fears and uncertainty, taking responsibility for our life.

HBA San Francisco Chapter 2010 Recap

2010 was an exciting year including six core events, the implementation of the incredibly successfully mentor program, our first Women In Science (WIS) event, the Executive Women’s breakfast, and two exclusive member only programs.

On behalf of the HBA San Francisco Chapter, I want to thank all of our members, chapter sponsors and program attendees for another fabulous year. 2010 was an exciting year including six core events, the implementation of the incredibly successfully mentor program, our first Women In Science (WIS) event, the Executive Women’s breakfast, and two exclusive member only programs. We increased our membership by 14.1% and closed out the year 302 members strong!
