Remember how difficult it was to launch Medicare Part D? Implementation seemed nearly impossible given the complexities, the tight timeframes and the ever-changing requirements of a government sponsored healthcare program.

“Medicare on steroids” is how panelist, Kevin Rigby, Novartis VP/country head of public affairs and HBA Mentor of the Year, described healthcare reform. There is an incredible amount of confusion about what is actually included, who will be impacted and how it will all be funded.

WOTY West Focus: In need of donated items for auction benefitting Dress For Success

The HBA San Francisco requests donated auction items such as goods and services from businesses and individuals for the WOTY West auction. We will celebrate HBA’s Women of the Year on 5/9/13 to be held at Genentech in South San Francisco and benefitting Dress For Success. WOTY West will collaborate with Dress For Success again this year. The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.

HBA Meetup at BIO International on April 23 in Chicago

The HBA is hosting a Meetup from 5:00-6:30 PM on Tuesday, April 23 during the 2013 BIO International Convention. The meetup will take place in the meetup area, Booth 4800. Come mix and mingle with HBA leaders from all over the US and internationally. Prospective members are encouraged to join to learn more about the many benefits of HBA membership. The Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) is the premier catalyst for the leadership development of women in healthcare worldwide. Now in its fourth decade, the HBA has more than 6,200 individual members and over 120 corporate partners.
