Congratulations to Boston's Q1 2014 CAP award winners

The HBA Boston chapter thanks and congratulates the Q1 2014 CAP award winners The Contribution and Participation (CAP) award for the HBA Boston chapter is a way to recognize the efforts of our many wonderful volunteers who contribute their time, talent and energy to help the chapter fulfill the organization’s mission to further the advancement of women in healthcare worldwide. Each quarter, several volunteers who have shown a strong commitment and made an outstanding volunteer contribution to HBA are recognized with this special award.

Event recap: An Evening of Personalized Advice from HBA Mentors and Healthcare Executives

An interactive and informative evening was had by all that attended the March 13 HBA Chicago chapter event entitled “An Evening of Personalized Advice from HBA Mentors and Healthcare Executives”. Approximately 130 attendees participated in several round table discussions focused on career development and key issues facing women in healthcare.

Joan Magruder joins Healthcare Businesswomen's Association (HBA) St. louis chapter as advisory board member

Joan Magruder, president of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, has joined other St. Louis leaders as an advisory board member for the HBA St. Louis chapter effective January 1, 2014.

The HBA St. Louis chapter advisory board is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of local corporate sponsors and thought leaders, who represent diverse sectors of the healthcare industry. The purpose of the advisory board is to provide strategic input to the HBA St. Louis chapter leadership on the overall direction of the chapter as well as providing support on key initiatives.

Event recap: Trust: How to build it and why it matters

We opened 2014 announcing our theme of “shifting sands; new horizons” and began the programming calendar year by exploring a foundational element for handling all types of change: Trust.  Ms Susan Lang, founder and CEO of Hoopayz led a provocative discussion by first challenging all of us to accept that courageous leadership begins with the basis of trust. And while many of us may have thought that she would deal solely with the idea of learning to trust others and guiding others to trust us, she actually began right at the bedrock---“trust begins with trusting oneself”.
