Susan M. O’Connor is the Chief Executive Officer of the HBA, and has both non-profit and for-profit leadership experience advancing gender parity and empowering women around the world. As a Board Member of UN Women USA NY, she helped advance critical issues that impact women globally through fundraising, membership engagement, and board diversity.
Previously as a healthcare executive at Pfizer, she grew $300-400 million businesses by 7-14 percent through innovation and Ministry of Health partnerships. Rising to Vice President and Chief of Staff to the Head of Global Innovative Business, she managed executive team operations, and Board of Director and Analyst communications. Susan was also a member of Pfizer’s Global Women’s Council and led Africa Middle East and U.S. councils that increased gender parity at the Vice President level.
More recently as CEO of PranaHealth, Susan developed business plans to commercialize wellness innovations in healthcare with estimated sales potential of $285 million. She launched and chairs the Global Wellness Institute’s Wellness Coaching Initiative, which set global guidelines for the profession.
Susan is certified in Wellness Coaching by the Mayo Clinic and Mindfulness by the Center for Mindfulness. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University. Susan is a former New York City marathoner and currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
