Make Your Mark! by Freda Lewis-Hall, MDThe Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) is thrilled to announce publication of Make Your Mark by Freda Lewis-Hall, MD, chief medical officer of Pfizer Inc.  Make Your Mark contains inspirational leadership lessons gleaned from Dr. Lewis-Hall’s remarkable career in healthcare, as well as inspiration gained from her family, mentors and colleagues. Dr. Lewis-Hall’s warm, caring and solid leadership lessons will inspire today’s female leaders to create a meaningful career for themselves and others.

Dr. Lewis-Hall is a long-time supporter and member of the HBA and was named the 2011 HBA Woman of the Year. “I’m so pleased to have the honor of authoring the first of a series to be released by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association,” said Dr. Lewis-Hall. “The HBA has been an agent of positive growth for many women who have made significant contributions to the advancement of healthcare.”

“Freda Lewis-Hall has enjoyed great success throughout her career, advancing to senior-most positions within the companies where she has worked.  However, these are not the achievements that define her. Rather, her passion for healing and building people is what is most outstanding,” said Deborah Dunsire, MD, CEO, Millennium: The Takeda Oncology Company. “She shares with us and salutes some of the people who have shaped and influenced the luminescent leader she has become. It is a ‘must read’.”

“For most leaders, the great challenge isn’t understanding the practice of leadership. It is practicing their understanding of leadership,” says Marshall Goldsmith, New York Times bestselling author of MOJO and What Got You Here Won’t Get You There. “In Make Your Mark, Freda Lewis-Hall gives us an impressive case history of leadership lessons learned, effectively applied and taught to the generation to come.”

Dr. Lewis-Hall appeared at the 2012 HBA Leadership Conference in Orlando on November 7, 2012 for a signing event. “The HBA envisions Make Your Mark as the start of a series of leadership publications,” says Laurie Cooke, RPh, CAE, CEO of the HBA. “This will allow our global membership to share more intimately in the learning and inspiration of some of the senior-most women in healthcare.”
