FAIRFIELD, NJ, March 20, 2007 – Shellie Caplan, Founder & President, Caplan Associates Executive Search, will be honored as the 2007 HBA Star Volunteer by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association at the 18th annual Woman of the Year awards luncheon, Thursday, May 3rd, at the New York City Hilton.

Shellie Caplan is passionate about living life to the fullest and helping others realize their potential. She has been a successful executive recruiter, specializing in the healthcare industry, for more than 27 years. She added winning entrepreneur to her credits 13 years ago when she founded Caplan Associates Executive Search. In 2006, she received certification in corporate and career coaching, leading her to establish a new practice within Caplan Associates, Segue Coaching and Transition Solutions along with her newest venture of creating peer advisory boards for women entrepreneurs.

In addition to numerous other roles, she has served as a member of the HBA Board for more than 18 years.

“I am proud to be part of this organization and to turn other women on to it,” stated Shellie about her years of service. “This is such a special day for me because one of my closest friends is being honored as a woman of the year and its amazing for me to be sitting up there with her and all these other women. I feel very honored and privileged to be a part of it.”

Also honored at the luncheon will be the HBA’s Woman of the Year, Meryl Zausner, Vice President and CFO, Novartis oncology, and the HBA’s Honorable Mentor, Lonnel Coats, President & COO, Eisai Inc.
