FAIRFIELD, NJ, March 23, 2005 - Mick Mosebrook , Executive Vice President - Sales, U.S. Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer Inc., will be honored as the 2005 HBA Honorable Mentor by the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association at the 16th annual HBA Woman of the Year awards luncheon, Thursday, May 12th, at the New York City Hilton.
Mosebrook was nominated to be the HBA’s fifth Honorable Mentor “without reservation” by J. Patrick Kelly, President, U.S. Pharmaceuticals, Vice President, Pfizer Inc. “You will not find a candidate more committed to the development and advancement of women in the healthcare field than Mick,” said Kelly. “Without a doubt, Mick is a Pfizer mentor who demonstrates support, investment and results. Our organization would not have such rich diversity in our workforce without Mick’s commitment to providing opportunities for and supporting the professional development of women.”
The HBA created the Honorable Mentor Award in 2001 to annually honor one man in the industry who has demonstrated long-term support of the advancement of women in the healthcare industry; has a personal dedication to developing, mentoring and promoting women in the industry; and who has been supportive of the HBA.
“Mick is a role model for all men in all industries,” said HBA president Barbara Pritchard, President, The Pritchard Group and Intermedica, Inc. “The HBA could not succeed without men like Mick putting our mission into practice to further the advancement of women in the healthcare industry.”
Since first joining Pfizer in 1968, Mosebrook has garnered many awards for sales achievement and has been inducted into the very prestigious US Pharmaceutical's HALL OF FAME. He also championed Pfizer’s important Pfizer Talent Development initiative – “Women in Sales Leadership” – specifically designed to ensure Pfizer is fully realizing the potential of the talent in the US Pharmaceuticals Sales organization.
Mosebrook includes the Women in Sales Leadership (WISL) goals in his personal objectives against which he is compensated and includes a WISL objective in every sales manager’s goal throughout the US Pharmaceuticals business. Through his efforts and support, he has positioned WISL as a critical element in Pfizer’s Talent Development Strategy. And, during his term as EVP Sales - US Pharmaceuticals, more than 30 percent of the promotions to Vice President and Director in Sales have been to women.
Mosebrook, who first joined Pfizer Labs in 1968 as a Sales Representative in the San Antonio District, has held a wide range of field positions, including Professional Sales Representative and District Hospital Representative in Fort Worth, and Assistant to the Regional Manager of the Southwest region. In 1973 Mick was appointed Houston District Manager, a position he held for nine years until moving to New York Headquarters as Manager of National Sales Administration. He was appointed in 1984 as Regional Manager of the Pacific region and subsequently Vice President Sales, Pfizer Labs, January 1991.
In September 1998, Mosebrook was made Group Vice President, Sales and in 2000 he was promoted to Senior Vice President-Sales with responsibility for Pfizer Labs, Pratt and Steere sales divisions. In July 2001 he was promoted to his current position as Executive Vice President - Sales, U.S. Pharmaceuticals.
After earning a B.B.A. degree in Economics from Texas Christian University, Fort Worth, Texas, Mosebrook served as a Captain in the United States Air Force. He resides with his wife Ann in Westport, Connecticut.
